How does it work?

Layers of involvement

Picture Gaianet as a series of concentric circles. Each circle is a layer of involvement, with its own commitments and benefits.

Which layer best fits you at this time?

  1. Passive member - a trusted member of the network, visible to the ecosystem and contributing some financial support, but little time to actively engage.

  2. Active member - a trusted member who regularly joins conversations on the community platform and Telegram, and/or participates in online and offline community gatherings.

  3. Supporting contributor - a trusted member contributing a few hours a week flexibly to support the Gaianet organization by volunteering for specific tasks in support of Gaianet's purpose.

  4. Core contributor - a trusted member and selected New Earth professional energizing one or more roles in the organization, practicing self-organization, fully distributed authority, experiencing the Gaianet OS Playbook while co-creating the organization.

Becoming a member

Regardless how deep down the Gaianet rabbit hole you decide to go, your first step is always to join as a general member. This will make you visible to the wider network and give you access to member-only events, the community platform, and the community Telegram channel.

As Gaianet is an invite-only network, you will need a current member - somebody who is fully onboarded and initiated - to invite you. If you do not know a current Gaianet member yet, you can either browse and connect with a current member (to be found in the members section) or use the button on this page to apply to join. Current members are informed and if somebody feels resonance, they can get in touch to meet, connect, and possibly invite you.

Financial contribution

Gaianet is a registered foundation, which means nobody owns Gaianet, it owns itself. In essence, Gaianet belongs to all of us and is designed to service the highest good for all life on Earth. In the not-too-far-away future, Gaianet intends to be fully distributed and owned by its members.

The membership is based on a conscious value exchange. All Gaianet’s tools and infrastructure were built by volunteers, pioneers like yourself, for the benefit of all, so all financial support is welcome.

You are asked to contribute a monthly amount of choice. The suggested standard is €22/month. Financially abundant members are invited to give more (e.g. €100/month), so that others can join for as little as €3 per month.

All contributions are used for maintaining and expanding the network; at present mainly software licenses, admin, and promotional materials.

 What is included in the membership?

Networking tools to facilitate Golden Connections:

  • Trusted Member Database. Put yourself on the map as a New Earth co-creator and find the others. This “Gaianet Phonebook”, or “New Earth rolodex” of trusted professionals gives you access to peers, experts, and sparring partners on virtually any topic.

  • Online Community Platform (100% ad-free, private and secure, hosted on Mighty Networks). The “virtual lounge area” for Gaians to share knowledge and have meaningful conversations.

  • Bimonthly Project Support Mastermind. Meet fellow Gaians in a facilitated online session to practice your pitch, ask a support question, learn about others’ projects and give them your support. Light-yet-structured, practical-yet-meaningful, snappy-yet-deep.

  • Bimonthly Ecosystem Challenge Mastermind. In the alternating months, members gather around specific bigger questions, e.g. funding villages, coordinating work, collective storytelling, interoperability and data sharing, ecosystem weaving, community governance, etc.) to explore solutions and exchange best practices.

  • News & Updates Telegram Channel.

  • Monthly Newsletter with highlighted (new) members and projects, and updates from the New Earth field.

  • Join Meetings and Events offered by fellow Gaianet members.

  • Offer Meetings and Events for fellow Gaians (all topics and formats are welcome).

  • Share Your Needs and Offers via the Community Platform & Telegram chat.

 

The onboarding process

1. Receive an invitation from a current member.

2. Complete the onboarding form: commit to the community agreements, and share your background, needs, and assets (this takes 15 - 30 minutes).

3. Activate your monthly financial contribution (choose your amount).

4. Receive access to Gaianet’s networking tools (the Community Platform, events, Telegram channel, newsletter, etc.).

5. Join the online Homecoming / Initiation session on Zoom to meet other fresh Gaians and become a fully initiated member, enabling you to invite new members yourself.

6. Apply as a volunteer, if you want to go the extra mile and contribute to Gaianet’s purpose of uniting New Earth contributors from all over the world, you can steward a specific task or role (1-2h/week), become an ambassador in the field (flexible), and/or join the core team (8-12h/week) where you will be at the heart of the organization and get trained in self-organization (collaborating in a team of leaders, where nobody holds power over anyone else).

SUPPORTING CONTRIBUTOR
