We're co-creating a beautiful journey for our new members

Hello Dear Ones,

Welcome to your fortnightly update from Gaianet; sharing insights, news, and askings from within our community.

We recently put together The Hitchhiker's Guide to Gaialand - an information deck that gives a broad overview of Gaianet's mission, vision, and core values. It's a great way of introducing Gaianet to those who know nothing about it - or refresh your memory! Click here to download the guide.

Updates from the Mission Circle

Gaianet's Mission Circle steers the ship towards our vision; it's responsible for creating and maintaining our strategic roadmap. Every two weeks, we're holding interactive Q&A sessions with the Mission Circle and the community, to give updates on a chosen topic (voted upon by platform members), and open the space for questions and comments.

Our most recent Q&A was focused on our new member onboarding journey, which we're co-creating ahead of 21 March 2021, when we'll open the platform to a wave of new members. You can watch a recording of the 1-hour Q&A here, and here are some of the major points we discussed:

  • What's the purpose of an onboarding journey? The answer is in gatekeeping - maintaining a healthy, trusted, and thriving community, and ensuring that new members can engage with the platform in the most nourishing and rewarding way possible.

  • We are designing a vouching system whereby existing members vouch for new members. This puts trust at the center of the process and allows the community to safely expand from all directions.

  • We will be creating a welcome fractal for new members, to help them feel at home in the community and introduce them to core materials, guidelines, and best practices.

  • The ideal onboarding journey will help new members discover their purpose within Gaianet, and feel empowered to contribute in their own (best) way.

  • We envisage building a member database with each individual's talents, dreams, interests, and availability so that people and projects on the platform can easily find others who might meet their needs.

  • In light of all of this, we're searching for a Customer Journey Specialist who has 16+ available hours per week, to take care of the design and implementation of the New Member Journey in collaboration with the team. Could that be you? Say hello!

We're still looking for a Team Builder to take ownership of Gaianet's recruitment process, and help us fill open roles - we have big plans, so there are quite a few! Click here to read more about the Team Builder role and contact us if you feel called to it - or you know someone who might.

  • As always - go ahead and invite like-minded friends and colleagues, change-makers and curious hearts to subscribe to this newsletter and join us as we co-create a more beautiful world.

    Until next time!

    Much Love,

    The Gaianet Team
